A new website related to Pawtucket's City Government has taken off.  Please visit VoteResponsibly.org to see how our government works, to find agenda/minutes for the various boards and commissions, as well as a calendar of upcoming meetings.

VoteResponsibly.org is built on the simple principle that the best defense against bad government is informed voters. While many elected and appointed officials may disagree, we know you are intelligent enough to understand the ins and outs of local government.

Intentionally or not, those same officials have placed road blocks on your access to information. Open meetings and records laws have considerably increased access… assuming you have time.

VoteResponsibly.org will fill out the forms, attend the meetings, investigate the issues, and compile as much information as possible – so you can spend less time hunting information and more time educating yourself.

We are open to your ideas and questions…

Looks like a helpful resource for voters, but does not identify who is involved with it or how data is assembled and selected as sometimes data and presentations can be misused and misrepresented as many voters sadly discovered

Not sure what you mean.  All posts clearly identify the originator.  So far it's been me (John Sawyer) and Joel Tirrell.  Also, each information post identifies the source, i.e. City Charter section or Ordinance.  Minutes that are posted are listed as "unofficial" and are a summarization as the author witnessed the meeting.

Hope you'll return to give it another look.  We also are looking for others who wish to attend various meetings.  We have found that we cannot depend on the City to present the results of public meetings.
