The Pawtucket Citizens Development Corporation on Monday received approvals it needs to move forward with redeveloping nine sites that are part of yet another major planned restoration effort in the Downtown neighborhood.
The idea, according to PCDC Executive Director Nancy Whit, is to make this the last significant investment on the part of the PCDC and to let private business take over.
"We think there also needs to be private development and private ownership of properties," said Whit, adding that the PCDC is laying the foundation by taking the "worst" of the properties in the area and restoring them as modern masterpieces Pawtucket residents can be proud of.
