The wooded areas of Colonial Shores play host to several forms of wildlife. Deer, turkeys, raccoons, foxes, possum, and even coyotes have been spotted in recent years. Occasionally, these animals even venture into our streets and yards. Please exercise safety and common sense practices when dealing with these furry neighbors. We have coexisted for over 30 years, so be glad if you are fortunate enough to have your own sighting. However, those of us with pets and small children should take a few precautions. If you have cats or dogs, please keep them inside at night and early morning. Also, please don't allow your pets to roam freely in the neighborhood at any time (there is a restrictive covenant regarding this). If you encounter a problem with wild or domestic animals, please call the City of Chattanooga at 311 for guidance.
