From our friends in the Sea Isle Park Neighborhood-

Please be on the lookout for the vehicle listed below and the individuals occupying it.  Also be aware of the method they are using to get into our homes - they are using a door in the rear of the house out of sight of most people.  If you observe this vehicle, the individuals, or see anything suspicious around your neighbors house please call 636-4199 or 636-3100 immediately.  Let the Police check it out and determine if the person(s) are supposed to be there or not supposed to be there.  We have to step up and protect our neighborhoods by getting involved.  If you don't want to give your name and address when you call the Police just advise them so and let them know you want to stay anonymous.

Tuesday, August 11, during the noon hour.  I went out on an errand for about 15-20 minutes-no longer; during this short span of time, my home was invaded from my locked & gated back yard; breaking the gate lock, breaking out storm window, house window and demolishing a security door. When I returned and entered my house the robber ran away.  The mail man saw him; so did my next door neighbor.  They report:  an old model compact-type car, such as a Toyota Corolla (sp?), faded red, kinda beat up, was parked in front of my house.  A man was sitting in it talking on a cell phone.  A large, bald, black man wearing a blue shirt came from the back of my house, as I entered the front door.  The car screeched off going toward Wood lark.
My keeping everything locked was a deterrent and slowed him down.  However, he would have gained entry had he more time.  My windows are sealed and he could raise them, but he cut the security door frame, pealed back the metal from the dead bolt, as one peals a banana and had the security door open.
All my doors have been replaced by Pickle Iron Works doors, who guarantee their doors can't be opened.  Also, now I communicate with my neighbors as to when/where I'm leaving the house; how long I'll be gone and that no one is expected to visit, drop off, etc.  I have also, become more observant of cars: parked on the street, repeatedly passing by, etc.; strangers walking in the neighborhood.
