X-man is welcome...

Who ever X-man is..

I live in a beach house..
My wife and kids love it.. me too..

X-man.. your welcome here.. even if you
don't like it..

When we bought in prospect.. we bought
a home, not a state of mind..

oh.. back to the issue..

X-Man probably uses Microsoft Outlook, it enables a user to specify any e-mail return address desired.

There is a way to find out who x-man is.. but who has the time... and who cares..

Where Are We Heading?

This whole discussion is most interesting. Not so much by what is being posted on-line, but the constant and continuing discussion that has been going on off-line. Not just lately, but for months now.

Either a whole lot of people don't have access to the web (we know of several who in fact do not) or people are just reluctant to speak in a public forum (check out the number of hits to this site). But one particular off-line comment was so right-on the pulse of the discussions, that it just has to be posted. Anonymously, of course.

To paraphrase the person who said it: The problem isn't about necessarily liking or disliking different buildings out here. It's more about the overall direction that Prospect is heading. Many of us bought into this neighborhood based on one concept, and now Prospect is trying to be made into something else. People are simply feeling ripped off.

Hmmm....

I can certainly understand the concern about the direction of Prospect, because we all obviously want it to turn out as well as it can. I obviously can't speak for the future intentions of the architecture board, but as I stroll around in Phase 2, the *majority* of houses I see are still quite traditional. Based on that evidence, it seems like the rational conclusion (in the absence of statements of intent from architecture board) is that Prospect will continue to be mostly traditional houses. Am I way off base? Does everyone know something I don't?

Just in case you wanna hear more

...here's a link to an interview with Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk and Jeff Speck (who both worked on Prospect). They are primarily talking about their new book ''Suburban Nation'', but they talk some about how they feel about architectual styles in New Urban neighborhoods.
