MINUTES OF ASSOCIATION MEETING
NOVEMBER 12, 1998

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Costa Dunias, President.
1. Present: Costa Dunias, Ron Huser, Annie Berger, John Bradley, Charlotte Bagwell, Richard Wihera, Jeanne Schrader, Bruce & Leah Typher, and Kathy Hofstra.
2. Minutes of the October 8, 1998 meeting were amended to read that Foothills had submitted to Urban Drainage the repair of the ditch along Pierce as their 1st priority. The minutes were approved as amended and printed in The Scroll.
3. President?’s Report by Costa Dunias, President
Jefferson County Planning Commission Agenda was received.
4. Treasurer?’s Report by Ron Huser, Treasurer
5. Committee Reports
A. Architectural Control Committee (ACC). Problem of a boat and RV parked in front of a home was discussed.
Question was asked if a new sidewalk in front of a home needs approval from the ACC. Since it could come under architectural harmony of the neighborhood, it does require approval.
A homeowner was present for approval of a shed. Shed was approved.
B. Parks Committee report by Annie Berger, Chairperson. Cleanup Day was October 17, 1998. Turn out was very poor, but thanks to those who did help, the entrances at David Dr. and Fairview Dr. were trimmed and cleaned up.
Thank-you to Kevin Hofstra who put the sealer on the Ingrid Mason Memorial Bench.
The bridge walkway across from Dairy Queen was painted October 24, 1998. There was not enough paint, so Foothills will be getting more to finish the project.
The 6th grade Normandy Girl Scott Troop 2297 cleaned up weeds along paths in Wayside Meadows.
C. Membership/blockworkers Report by Charlotte Bagwell, Chairperson. There are currently 415 dues paying homeowners. The drawing was made for the winner of the lottery tickets. Mark and Jan Fiedler were the winners.
Charlotte noted that Alex, husband of Barb Mastro, both neighbors who have always been active in our HoA, had passed away. The HoA Board Members extend their condolences.
D. Scroll Report. It was noted that all political flyers placed in The Scroll were paid advertisements and not necessarily the opinion of the HoA board. From now on, all flyers of this nature will be required to state who they were financed by.
E. COHOPE Report by Jeanne Schrader, Chairperson. There was a review of the election results. The West Metro and Roxbrough issue was the main topic of the evening. The defeat of the Jefferson County School mill levy issue was also discussed. The future needs by the public for residents over 60 were brought up. Statistics were presented that the last 5 years showed a 29% net increase in this age group and the projection is for another 21% increase the next 5 years.

6. Old Business
A. Kaiser Permanente and King Soopers Committee, Joe Hart Chairperson. Joe was not present but it was noted that plans are moving along and a surveyor was working in the area last week.
B. Columbine South Commons Senior Care Development. Nothing new. It was suggested that the board be given a copy of the plans from the committee for review.
C. Upham Street Plans. The new ballot will be drawn up and will be delivered to the Chatfield Estates area in the next two weeks. Once results are in, the HoA board will decide whether or not to petition Jefferson County for the closure of Upham St. as an access into the neighborhood. If you have any questions, concerns or opinions on the closure of Upham St. into the Chatfield Estates area, please contact a board member or come to the December 10, 1998 HoA meeting. The issue will be voted on at that time!!!
D. Bus Stop Benches. Lisa Paige has written the bench companies stating the neighborhood would like the benches removed since there are no bus stops along Pierce. The HoA will also send letters to the owners affirming the request for removal.
7. New Business
A. February Meeting Date. The church will not be available February 11, 1998 for the HoA meeting. It was decided the February meeting would be moved to Wednesday, February 10, 1998 at the church.
B. Insurance for the HoA Board. John Bradley did some checking and found the cost of insurance to be approximately $1,700. The board felt this cost was not practical and will do more checking into liability and costs.
8. Meeting was adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
