Greetings to all my fellow residents. This is my first attempt at community involvement, however I feel I must speak up.I may not have all the facts about the subject matter either and so I am certainly not out to pass any judgement here.I am continuously trying to gather more info to work with though. My issue is simply this:Why is there no grocery store such as Kroger etc,in this area?I have observed that improvements are taking place all over Columbus, especially in the more economically advantaged areas(hmm..wonder how they got that way..)such as the Short North,OSU's Campus Area and King Arts District.I am trying to start something here.I realize that efforts have been made in the past which have largely failed but this is a new day and conditions have and are changing fast.We should be allowed to become a more wholesome part of this city and I believe that if we could attract a grocer into this area other businesses will follow just like in Whitehall's Town and Country Center. This nonsence about our not spending money is pure bunk!We need to bring and KEEP the dollars in our community!More than that,we need to reinvest these monies into small businesses, employ neigborhood folk and grow these businesses 'cause if you 'aint got no jobs.....why do I wanna live here?Oh yes,I have already E-mailed Kroger,Giant Eagle and meijer city hall and left messages for councilwoman Tavares. My next step is to contact my State rep. Will you all do the same? There are many properties simply languishing around here but they look like opportunity to me.Thanks!
