Here Is a Novel Idea

Posted in: Millis
I like it so much I would like to claim it as my own, but alas tis not to be. Instead I am repeating a friends thoughts: Chief Kenney stated that his department responded to 96 false alarms at the SSPlaza in 2004. Well, if we had a paid detail fireman on the premises to validate the need for an alarm might that not save unwarranted responses? If you know why this would not be effective maybe you'd be kind enough to let me know the reasons.

Not Invented Here (At Fire Central)
Maybe Not

invented at Fire Central. Possibly it should have been born from the ranks because it is a grand idea--the Plaza could even pay for the detail. Imagine a position paid for out of the scope of our budget woes.

Much cheaper solution

Install an closed circuit camera at all the alarm activation sites and have the plaza pay for them ,
record every activation and look at the video ,simple solution just like a bank !
