Dear MMP,

This material is absolutely amazing.  Where did you obtain the materials?  Do you have a personal archive?  Absolutely terrific.  May I use the material when I teach a "Rhode Island History" class in late 2009?

Thanks,

Jim Matuszek

Am sure we could also use similar history lessons on the damming of the great Blackstone River and stopping the fish flow...but Cumberland is now including this in their history curriculum. Soon we will have free flow of the fish over the Main Street Dam and Slater Mill Dam as the fish migrate up and down our river.

Slater Mill and Main Street will also be generating hydro power as well- We all win with history and environmental supports.

Dear Arthur,

It seems timely Blackstone Valley area high schools should get together and discuss ideas for a comprehensive Rhode Island state History curriculum.   Cumberland and Shea High Schools last met in Newport for a History conference in 2004.  The districts need to involve each other.

Peace,  Jim
