I looked up the Montgomery metro area (includes Wetumpka, Prattville) on the AIG database. AIG underwrites mortgage insurance. We are officially in a declining real estate market.
Funny - Birmingham is not.
That means mortage insurance will be harder to get, and lenders may require more down payment, perhaps 20%. I think most of the houses here in Emerald Mountain were probably bought with 10% down or less.
