Community Action for Barnes-Mill Neighborhood, Inc. (CABN)
First Christian Church, Richmond, KY
President Richard Deane welcomed twenty members to the April Meeting of CABN which was held at 7 pm on April 15, 2005 in the Fellowship Hall of the First Christian Church. A quorum was present.
John Wernegreen introduced Joe Beck, Professor or Environmental Health Science at Eastern Kentucky University. Mr. Beck?’s credentials include extensive work with community planning; environmental concerns in industry, and experience in state and federal governmental agencies. His topic, ?“Hazards of Leisure?”, was stimulating and enlightening to those in attendance. An honorary CABN Membership Certificate was presented to Joe at the conclusion of his presentation.
Minutes of the March 18, 2005 General Meeting were approved and the Treasurer?’s Report given and filed.
Announcements:
Old Business: None presented.
New Business: CABN has been invited to become a member of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce for the reduced rate of $62.50. Motion was made by John Wernegreen to accept the chamber?’s invitation and it was seconded by Sallie Marcum. The advantages of this position were discussed and the vote was unanimous.
The next meeting of the CABN membership will be at the First Christian Church at 7 pm on May 20, 2005. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 pm.
