Hello Borough Park,
Your neighborhood source for fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables -- the Borough Park Farmers Market -- opened on July 10th and will operate through November. Operated by Greenmarket, a part of the Council on the Environment for NYC, the Borough Park Farmers Market is located on 14th Avenue between 49th and 50th streets - in front of the Y.
This year we have two farmers (Toigo Orchards from Pennsylvania and Dirago Orchards from upstate) bringing a homegrown selection of delicious fruits (peaches, nectarines, plums and soon to come apples!) And three farmers all from Orange County bringing a wide selection of fresh vegetables -- carrots, beets, radish, cucumbers, zucchinis, mushrooms - and more!
Come early - the farmers are ready to sell by 8am and the market winds down around 3pm or whenever the farmers sell out.
