I own a home in this housing developement, which I have listed for sale. Unfortunately the backyard faces Hwy 78/ Old Seguin rd, and the fence isn't even 5ft. I have had several people interested in the property however; the fenceline is a deal breaker. The home has been renovated from top to bottom, the foundation and plumbing has all been fixed and replace in that order and all the work is warrantied, all the materials and craftsmanship is top of the line. The unsightly image of busy traffic going past the back fence detracts from the homes value, and prospective buyers only see a source of security and privacy issues, not the feeling a home should emote. I look around at the newer housing developements ( in fact across the street on the east bound traffic) and they have much higher fences to block out the constant stream of traffic and the noise that comes with it. At the time the housing developement was built (mid 80's) hwy 78 was only Seguin rd, and not much traffic, times have changed and the traffic is immense. So instead of this home taking front stage, the only thing they can see is the busy street just beyond the back yard. I think that by building a continuous fence at the front of the housing area, we will add not just value, but security and privacy. I just need a jumping off plact. If anyone knows where to start I am open to the suggestions. We pay almost $400 annually for dues, how and where are these monies spent. I dont think there is a better place to spend these funds than the security of our children, and to give our housing developement a fresh new look that is going to benefit every home owner contained within this develpoement.
