Fire Danger Hits Home

Mar 04, 2008

The lack of rain this winter season has created some very dry conditions in our community. The drainage ditch between Unit 1 and Unit 3 is a case in point. In late February, a small fire started in the grass and along the fence line in the back yards of residents on Copper (Meadows). Fortunately, the fire was noticed and called in quickly and damage was limited to the fences of three properties. This certainly could have been a lot worse than it was. The high winds we have experienced recently could have turned this relatively minor incident into a major catastrophe. Kudos to the attentive homeowners and an awesome fire department who, together, prevented further damage. This just goes to show that we must be diligent in taking measures to ensure that our property is safe from what appears to be unforeseen disasters.
