Parker Bank Robbed

Aug 02, 2000

The Parker Police Department received a robbery alarm at 11:09 a.m. from Community First National Bank, 19311 E. Plaza Drive.

A report said the suspect fled on foot with "an undisclosed amount of money into a nearby subdivision." No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported.

The last bank robbery in Parker was about 15 years ago on the corner of Colorado 83 and Lincoln Avenue, when Parker was in unincorporated Douglas County said Lt. David King.

"Things are changing," King said. "Parker is not immune to have things happen, and people need to be aware of that. Luckily no on was hurt [in the robbery]."

In conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Parker Police Department is investigating the incident. The suspect was described as about 6 feet tall with a "heavy build," said a press release about the robbery. "He was wearing a green shirt with multicolored stripes and khaki pants."

He also was wearing sunglasses and a "a white mask over his head," it said. Community First National Bank closed for the rest of the day.

"The police department is working on the investigation, and luckily no was hurt," said Keith Dickelman, district manager of Community First National Bank.
