FEMA Trailers

Posted in: St Andrews
My wife now suffers from aggravation of asthma and we all had the Katrina cough for months. I'll leave it up to the experts about whether formaldehyde in the FEMA trailers is a cause. Nevertheless, we are deeply thankful for our trailer. It really helped us focus on rebuilding our home. If I had to do it all over again, I would take the trailer in a heartbeat and just find a way to improve its ventilation.

Now I am alarmed that FEMA leaves us no comparable alternative when it vows to never again use them. This is an intolerable abdication of responsibility and it will truly deepen and extend the hardships for the next disaster victims. Instead, FEMA can learn from its mistakes and make better preparations to use the trailers or their equals for the next hurricane. Otherwise, my plans are to ask Gene Taylor to talk with FEMA about their plans, and to buy a tent for the next time.
