Removal of radioactive waste from the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site is expected to begin in mid to late July. The waste will be transported to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in Carlsbad New Mexico on a truck carrying special containers that have been tested and approved by the Nuclear Regulation Commission for the transportation of radioactive waste.
