Got a question for you on the jail issue. And the right answer here could go a long way towards putting my fears to rest about the jail.
When prisoners are released and have no self arranged ride to leave... what will happen?
Please note: I've heard the "closest bus stop" and "closest Broomfield bus stop" answers. Those are not specific enough to make me feel my daughter is safe on our block. If you can find out EXACTLY where they will be taken (if anywhere at all) - you MAY take a big weight off my heart.

You are right! I probably NEVER have been fully or accurately informed on any issued I've voted for. And, actually, I'm embarassed that I have not been more responsible in that way But, also, I think it is impossible to know ALL facts about anything. And I DID vote yes for the county in Nov 98.
When the neighborhoods on the east side of GWR found out about the probable jail site (may 99) We gathered over 3000 petition signatures to demonstrate the scale of concern.
In the case of this specific ballot issue (BF to become City/County) I believe that if Westminster and Superior residents would have known about the location of the jail, the vote result would have been reversed - Not only because we're talking about thousands of voters, but because those people were(are) emotionally vested and would have actively campaigned for "Vote No" on the issue. I also think that the BFCC - because they are intelligent people with forsight - withheld that information from us because they knew of the likely affect of us knowing.
This is one thing (amoung others) that is at the heart of our concerns about the original campaign and vote - we, the voter's, were not told of issues that directly affected us. And it was unethical for that info to be withheld. (side note: I personally suspect that our own Westy CC knew of the jail location and were unethical in keeping that info from us.)
It's OK with me to talk about the jail. It is an issue I (and many of us here) care about. It is one of at least a few issues that were not accurately presented to the public during the 98 campaign. That is why we want a revote.... That is why they don't.

Facts have been presented to you. Nothing will change your mind. Your preconceived notions are what you hang onto. Name one existing county jail in the Denver metro area that has been a consistent problem to anyone. You can't because none have. You need to get over your jail phobia. In reality, the only thing you have to fear is your own irrational fears.

Help me out with something. How is the jail going to adversely affect you? I would really like to know your thinking on this. The reason is it seems to be at the root of your response. Everything I've read and seen about county jails seems to be at odds with your concerns. For your argument about being affected to have substance, you will need to show how the jail will adversely affect you. The weight of the evidence seems to contrary to what you think.
