Hi, BrAnan,
I received clearance from the group to publish our petition locations for the weekend: Sat and Sun - Louisville King Soopers (probably start 10ish, quit when we're about to drop).
My vehicle died last night on the way home and is at the doctor today. The situation seems to be under control and I plan to have wheels again by tonight. I should be out circulating for at least 1/2 days on each Sat and Sun - barring more unforseen probs.
(I need a good mechanic in my life even more than an architect - LOL)

To Broomfield supporters
Sometime back, I asked 2 easy questions (to whom I can't remember), and I have never seen an answer except by some unsupported inuendo such as "read the papers". I would still like a factual answer (if there is one).
1. can you cite just one notice of the Senate or House hearings that was easily and readily available to the average Broomfield resident? Please say when and where was the notice published.
2. can you identify just one public discussion meeting for Broomfield residents, allowing questions or comments about this issue, between publication of the feasibility study and placement on the ballot? If so, please state when and where the notice of the meeting was published - please include date and time of the meeting.
If these questions cannot be answered, it seems very clear that the public was completely bypassed to get Referendum C on the state ballot. After that, Ref. C supporters had several hundred thousand dollars (mostly from big development interests)to spread inaccurate and sometimes totally incorrect information through the state.
Colorado voters deserve a chance (and the time)to get accurate information with Initiative 199.

You tell me
1. Can you cite just one notice of any Senate or House hearings that is easily and readily available to the average Colorado resident on any ballot issue?
If this question cannot be answered, do you still think Broomfield did anything different than anyone else?
2. Do you know when the feasibility study was done and when the issue was placed on the ballot? How many council meetings were in between that time that you could have attended and asked questions of your council if you wanted?
3. If CVELG could avoid the overwhelming task and expense of collecting 80,000+ signatures by having the legislature sponsor its initiative, wouldn't it jump at the chance? Is that "bypassing" the citizens? Isn't that procedure sanctioned by Colorado law?

Thee good articles today:
One: the beginning of the petition drive denoting the Louisville location; maybe you will get some BF residents to come.
Two: The costs of the Northwest Parkway project and public meetings; this is actually a letter by Pam Wanek
Three: The ridiculous income of the city and the cheapness of the city to support a humane society program. Interlocken must need a stoplight; which is much more expensive than animal care. Of course, animal care would be a CITIZEN program; NOT an Interlocken business program.
