10/1/99 Broomfield Problem

To BBW

There is only one definition of ethical and the corresponding definitions; universally accepted as they are by Webster, not me.

What you are attempting to sell is your interpretation of these definitions; and I, for one, refuse to fall under your manipulation. I don't have to speak for anyone; they are capable of doing that themselves. And, in reality; CVELG does not need me involved at all. They did not invite me; they do not know my identity; and they have no valid reason to trust me.
What I have learned from this board is that they are intelligent; resourceful, innovative, and determined to find the facts that BF left unspoken.
So what? Are you afraid of the fact that this group collected over 3,000 signatures on a petition; and have the leadership, credibility and power to mobilze?

If your group was so ethical, why in the world are you sweating a group from Westminster? Why are you filing an appeal to the ballot issue; why not just kiss it off like you ignored BF citizens on the ballot question? Why hasn't this been publicized in Broomfield? I know you don't like to answer questions; but to some in this town (BF); this action shows that you are afraid of something coming out. What is that something, Mr/Ms Act of Integrity? Why is Hank Stovall threatening "consequences" in the Westy Window?

You created the curiosity question for CVLEG by your past and current actions. Through all of this you brought attention to yourself. You opened this door; and now you look like you are "running scared" trying to close it. No one created this situation for you.

To the BBW

I appreciate your efforts to enlighten us with your side of this situation. I try very hard to keep an open mind to the information that is given here.
I will go as far as to say - that I even hope that YOU or SOMEONE will supply us with a reason(s) to STOP and reconsider this repeal action. The fact of the matter is - that with every day that passes, instead of running out of reasons to continue - we are faced with 100 reasons to keep going.
It seems that there is a very fine line as to what is ethical/unethical.
Wouldn't you agree??
I don't want to decide for you or the Colorado voters what is ethical/unethical. I would like to leave that up to individuals. What we are doing is just that.
Again, all CVELG is asking- is for another chance to inform the voters about what this county REALLY means and what it has entailed to this point.
CVELG is only interested in the "facts".
Any information that is going to be given to the public will be just that -
"facts". All information will be backed-up with evidence or proof.
It will be up to the voters to decide what they are willing to live with and if they decide that they can indeed live with their original vote, so be it!
WE - CVELG are exercising our constitutional rights to bring this issue back to the voters, and Broomfield "citizens" need to respect that right.
The idle threats from Broomfield "citizens" are infringing on that right and I resent it. Ethical? Unethical?
You decide.
Why can we not all AGREE to DISAGREE
and leave it up to the voters???????
I will say just one more time.......
If they ( the citizens )have nothing to hide - then they have nothing to worry
about. Leave us alone and let us do what "we" feel is right for "us".

To BBW...and

Something doesn't make sense; why is it that you join the board, the group raises your defenses, and all the posts disappear. Are you and your friends analyzing and copying madly? Just looks like fear, again.

To All

Fear? No. Something to hide? No. CVELG's members say they are interested in the facts. I am going to do my best to bring the facts out. Br. Anonymous, you have spent a lot of time and effort feeding CVELG things that you believe are unethical. Your opinions are not facts. Your opinions are a jaundiced view of reality. Broomfield's government is highly ethical contrary to your diatribe. Based on my reviews, I see no need for another statewide election.
It is a fact that the state senate and the state house of representatives voted to place the proposed City and County of Broomfield constitutional amendment on the 1998 statewide ballot. This was done at the request of a Broomfield citizens group called Citizens for Better Local Government. Larry Cooper was co-chair of that group along with Al Jeffries. Was it unethical for Cooper to be co-chair? Of course not. Just because he is a member of the BCC does not mean that he is not a citizen with rights as a citizen.
It is a fact that Colorado voters approved the constitutional amendment and it is a fact that Broomfield voters approved the constitutional amendment by a 62% majority.
I will not leave you alone because I think what you are doing is very wrong. Think about something. CVELG labels anyone who disagrees with it as unethical. To date, CVELG has labeled as unehtical the Broomfield city council, the Westminster city council, the Colorado Department of Health and Environment, the EPA, and even the Boulder Daily Camera. Is all of this ethical? Comments made by CVELG's members that the Camera is "owned by Broomfield" are absurd and unethical. I think there are some things for CVELG to think about in its pursuit of what is ethical. Things other that what Br. Anonymous says.
