Questionable

The opening balance in the CBLG fund of $11,665 is of particular interest. It is fully understood by ANYONE forming such a group that full documentation of donations and expenses is required without exception. How could such a large error be a simple oversight? It is very suspicious and poses questions as to the origin of the money.

Likewise, the balance of the fund was split between Cooper and two "volunteers" after the election. There are numerous payments to reimburse for travel expenses and supplies. These payments are fully documented and no doubt completely legitimate. Why, then, are these last three payments not documented? It was insinuated by Cooper during a city council meeting that they were for official travel yet there is absolutely no description to support this. Why did all three individuals receive equal payment of exactly a third of the remaining balance of the fund? It is difficult to imagine someone writing an undocumented check to himself without thinking that it may seem questionable to others. It is not difficult to follow the rules of documentation in this matter. It is suspicious that those rules were selectively ignored in cases where the truth may have been more serious.

My last message was NOT a preconceived notion of sinister activity. It only points out one of a long chain of highly questionable acts during the process to form the combined city and county of Broomfield. It is not a conclusion of fault on the part of any Broomfield official. I want BBW to understand that pointing out such activity and our resulting concerns is not an accusation.

I appreciate your viewpoint; and admit I had not considered the context of your view for disclosure before this.
On the other hand, if BBW is a city official; we can appreciate the narrowness of his view that this is a jail issue and 62% voted. We can also learn the city's weaknesses; specifically the questions you have posted and his failure to answer. I have my own ideas who this person may be; and, yes, this person (people) are definitely in the city leadership.
One of my problems is BBW's attempt to present this as a city content with gong to a county; regardless of events and circumstances surrounding the decision of BF to pursue, create and sign every IGA that presented a roadblock, and state this was done for the benefit of the citizens. This is so wrong; and, as CVLEG has heard, not everyone is waving the victory flag for BF council. Personnally, I think this is why Cooper lost the election; he was too close to the forefront of the the county formation; Berens, on the other hand, kept himself enough distance during the campaign that he was not seen as a leader. Not that he did not have the energy; but if it failed, he did not want any affiliation with a failed effort coming into an election. He is such a weasel; it is good that he will never be more than a mayor who breaks a tie vote. Larry, on the other hand, would have been a policy setting mayor, Berens is too weak; he always needs someone to blame if the decision is not accepted. And when it does go his way; he resorts to threats and intimidation to those who continue to disagree..I don't have to explain this to CVLEG, do I.
From my viewpoint we need you on this board; I haven't had the courage to ask what you are nor to persist as you have. I was so GLAD when you arrived. I also appreciate the conversations between you and BBW; I do not have the talent to debate as you two are debating. However, if you encounter harassment, I do hope you have the tools and support to fight it. I live in BF, and do not want to be intimidated on a continuous basis. I almost left the board when someone started copying my comments back to me; not that I regretted my comments; but the fear that someone was saving these to follow me around and see if I repeated them in public gatherings. I do have contact with city and council members on occasion; and do not want to be hounded by the BF Mafia. From my experience, you do not visibly disagree with someone in BF; I have and have experienced the degradation in public.
