We have started tossing around new ideas on how to add a little fun to the neighborhood. Many neighborhoods have contests around the winter holidays regarding decorations. We have thought about making seasonal awards to recognize different homes that have made special efforts to ?“Stand Out?”. Some of the ones we have come up with are December lights, Spring Flowers, Landscape and Fall Colors. Anyone in the neighborhood can nominate an address that they feel deserves the award, and through majority rule the home would receive an award! The award itself is still up for discussion (In the Spring it could be a Pot of Flowers, etc.)
Do we want to have a garage sale again?
Does anyone support the idea of having ?“Meet the Neighbor?” in the newsletter. It could be just a brief interview of someone. Who knows you may have a lot in common with someone on the opposite side of the neighborhood. What about a Children?’s Corner section of the newsletter? It could have an activity, recipe or joke submitted anonymously by one of the neighborhood children.
We are basically trying to make the neighborhood more involved and maybe a little more fun. We need your input. Without some support we will not even think of any of these activities, as they would not be enjoyable without people participating.
