It really is sad that con artist are feeding on well intentioned people.I helped 3 stranded ladies in a car on Trinity one day,they said their fuel gauge was broke and they were out of gas going to work..When I returned with a gas can and started to pour it in the tank it ran out of the filler tube.....They had played the scam so long they got a full tank of gas from it .Well anyway, thank goodness my reward is not with them...

I to saw the lady that was "out of gas."  After speaking with a police officer I know, she said call 911 on the lady.  She said if you call the non-emergency number then police will not respond in time.  I have seen this lady at numerous location around our area and stop the first time I saw her.  No, I didn't give her any money.  A police officer had shown up shortly after I had stopped.  The only way to stop the scam is to call the police. 

I stopped when I saw her and told her I didn't have cash on me and told her I was calling the police to come help.  She got in her car and DROVE OFF!!!!  CON ARTIST!!!
