This morning when I got up to let my dogs out, I noticed that my sliding glass doors were not closed all the way. Luckily, I have sticks in the doors so that they can't be opened very far. It is too dark right now to see if there are any footprints outside. Have there been any attempted break-ins in the neighborhood?

There was a daytime burglary on Orchid Hill a couple of months ago, but the homeower told me, and the police that he believed it was some friends of his son. You may want to call Chief Carter, our Chief of Police and advise him. George Langford-Councilman |

Haven't heard of anything in WP. However, I do know of a rash of crime that has affected a relative very close in Lyndon. A great tool that I recently became aware of can be found at www.louisvilleky.gov/metropolice. When you pull up that site, click on the triangle that says "Metro Watch Map" or the underlined "Use Metro Watch." After doing that, you can search a particular address (you will be directed through a series of prompts) and a map will pull up. When that map is loaded (very important) go to the bottom of the screen and select "Crime Level." It is a very eye-opening experience, especially in regards to the area of concern for my relative. Each crime is given an icon and you can see them all for the selected area for the last 90 days. Good Luck! FYI-Some of these break-ins in Lyndon are occurring in the middle of the day, cars in the drive-way, lights on, with a clear indication that people are home. Please be especially vigilant with your doors, windows, and garages, and take nothing for granted. Kim Horn |
