Just this past weekend I had a Halloween Witch stolen from right outside my door, and this morning found my door wreath on the side walk. This is rather disconcerting since my front door is set in so the thieves are walking right up to my door in the middle of the night to remove these items. Just want to make sure the neighborhood is aware of what is happening.

Thanks for the update. Please consider contacting SAPD for a patrol-by if this happens again (207-SAPD). Let them know that items were stolen so that they too are aware of what is going on in our neighborhood. |

See, this is why no one uses the site. The replys are alway bland and never get uninvolved. Nothing happens.
We have a lot of vandalism in the neighborhood. Every mailbox has been attacked with graffitti, as have a lot of street corners, and the walls at the Raba side entrance into the neighborhood (that says something other than Woodglen). Sadly, the paint cover-ups, when they finally come, are far from anything that matches, it's always glaringly clear, that someone has thrown a bad paint job over grafitti.
The people who live across from me have had a lot of trouble with stealing and vandalism of yard ornaments. I haven't, because I wouldn't dare put anything I value, or even like, out there.
And as someone pointed out 2-3 years ago on here, the trash problem is very gross. They had a good idea about it, too, one that would cost almost nothing but neighborhood participation for an afternoon. But absolutely nothing happened there either.
You are absolutely right, this neighborhood is going downhill fast, but the assoc doesn't want to talk about it. Ever try swimming in the pool? I took my grandkids there 2 years ago. Never again. I was so humiliated... there was hair (gobs of it), leaves, and all kind of funk floating in it. My grndkds were only 5 and 6 then, but even they new better, and got out shortly after getting in. We'll never go back. |

If there are 'issues' that you feel need to be addressed, PLEASE contact our Association Manager, Misti Jacobs or our SAFFE Officer from SAPD in regards to stolen items/property. Their contact info. is listed on this website. Ms. Jacobs is the person who needs to know about these issues and works directly with the board. The associaton has addressed several issues in relation to grafitti, the swimming pool, security, etc. at the last several HOA meetings, so these are topics that are being addressed, however, we need the entire neighborhood to work together in getting these issues resolved. At the last two meetings there were sign up sheets for committees and very few people signed up to get involved, and these included committees such as Safety, Communications, and Social/Activities. If we don't have people volunteer to help out in their own neighborhood, then what other methods should be considered for getting things done? It cannot be solely up to the board, who are volunteers too, to do everything, so again, it takes all us to take care of our neighborhood.
Don't be afraid to call 311, SAPD, our councilman Ray Lopez, or our Association Manager to communicate YOUR needs; that is the only way things get addressed. |
