Crime Watch Update - 10/17, 09

Posted in: Crime

Saturday night, October 17, at about 8:30 (after dark, but not late), a man who lives on Compton was entering his home via the front door when two men ran up to him as he opened the door, forced him into his house, shot him with Mace, and hit him with a large heavy flashlight. They then ransacked his house and left with some videogame equipment, a computer and about $40 in cash. When they left the house, they ran toward the Monon. The men were white, one taller than 6 foot 4 inches and big, and the other about 6 feet tall. The police were called and responded quickly, and said two or three similar incidents have occurred recently on the northside, though not necessarily in Sherwood Forest. If you see anyone suspicious--especially anyone fitting this description--call 911 immediately. We'll keep you posted if we learn more.
