Our Bellemeade Neighborhood Watch Program is active and working thanks to the efforts and co-operation of several people.  We now have an email and phone alert/notification system, have ordered the eight (8) Neighborhood Watch signs to be posted at the entrances into Bellemeade, have begun to create the Block Maps, and have registered our Program with Metro.

Given all of that we still need Block Captains for

A small number of  residents have been reluctant to give their phone numbers to their Block Captains.  Those numbers will NOT be published.  The information that is to be put on the Block Maps is strictly for the use of the Neighborhood Watch Captain (me), my alternate, and the pertinent Block Captain.   The success of the program depends on neighborly trust and co-operation.

I have had one person volunteer to serve as Alternate Neighborhood Captain thus far and heard by the "grapevine" that others are interested.  So, if you are seriously interested, please drop me an email with your name, address, phone number, and email address.

A lot has been accomplished in a very short time because of the efforts of several folks who have pitched in and helped  put this thing together. Many thanks to the following folks for their help in recruiting Block Captains, offering suggestions, kindly alerting me when I made errors in the numerous emails we have exchanged in compiling the communication plan, volunteering to put the signs in place, promptly replying to requests , and quickly compiling their Block Map.

So far only three people have volunteered to help put up the eight (8) Neighborhood Watch signs.  We need at least 5 more.  Thanks to Brian Hill, Larry Odom-Groh, and me for volunteering.

It is important that we get more people involved.  Within the past week we had a break in at a residence on Blane Road and a truck stolen from a residence in the 8900 block of Shelbyville Road.
