Bids

Mar 29, 2006
Just a suggestion regarding expenses for upkeep of the Crystal Lake pond and surrounding area. At the last General Membership Meeting of March 25,2006, it was reported that a company named ''Shovel Jockey'' was hired to clean the trash in and around the pond at a cost of $595.00. Upon returning home from that meeting, I inspected the pond and surrounding area and found that there still was quit a bit of trash was not picked up. I also learned that the company that cuts the grass surrounding the pond charges $866.00 per month. I would like to suggest that all future projects go out for bids prior to paying high prices for incomplete and poor service.

Re: Bids

Norm,
You raise a valid point on the bidding process. I'm not sure if you were aware, but S&T Lawns went through a bidding process with us against our former landscaper. The service we get from him is superior that that of the predecessor. Most services are performed correctly the first time and on a timely basis. You will find that the bid is very competitive for what we ask of them.

As far as the pond goes...We go round and round on that one.

I will forward your comments on to the Board, let them know your concern, and ask them to follow up on this. Thank you for letting us know of the conditions of your end of the pond!
