The Village Council is considering changing the Police Chief's job from part-time to full-time.

A Special Meeting was held on Thursday November 29th for the first reading of the Ordinance.

I specifically asked the Council and Mayor when this decision was made and at what committee or council meetings it was discussed. I received blank stares back in response. Not one of them would say anything.

By hiring a full-time chief it costs the Village more money and allows the police chief to have Fraternal Order of Police representation and the Village would have to go through a hearing to remove the chief.

This is bad idea for the Village, both fiscally and administratively. The Village Council is not considering all of the ramifications and is blindly voting and approving what the Mayor places in front of them.

We need some council members to represent the residents.

Show me Ms. White where I wanted this Council. I wanted a Council that would look out for the Village and the residents. I have not voted for anyone sitting on that Council for the current term they are sitting in.

Yes, I helped get Mayor Watkins elected for his first term and based on the choices that we had as voters I would vote for him again, then, not now. He ran unopposed but I did not vote him. While I was on Council I ensured that we were doing our job and watching over the Village and preventing the Mayor from going outside of his powers or doing what is required of him. That is the responsibility of the Council.

This Council wants to just show up at a meeting look at what has been put in front of them for the first time and then vote on it as emergency. Never holding any committee meetings or asking any questions.

I never wished for a Council like this or any Council like it. When my term ended on Council there were individuals sitting on Council who would do the hard work. For their own reasons they resigned for which I am sorry. The bunch that is down there now I never voted for and I would not vote for them.

I want a Council that does their job. We have 6 people now who do not know their job or refuse to do the hard work. Because of that the Village and residents suffer. I never wished for anything like this Ms. White.

Your problem is that you don't want anyone to disagree with you, especially me a mere woman. You would never admit you were wrong, so you have Watkins in charge.

It was the same with Russolollo, council followed his lead. So, he always could say, ''I didn't vote for it.''

Even now you won't check into what I told you about Watkins. You lied to people when you were supporting Watkins. You will say it is not true, but you did. You NEVER checked into his background before supporting him.
