TRAFFIC UPDATES
Residents expressed much concern at a K-Mart traffic meeting at Millikan HS in July. Our City?’s Traffic Engineer recognized a variety expected traffic problems. He noted?—after the meeting?—that he felt that the Deborah Street proposal had some merit yet he said he had not heard of any "workable" proposals to the 28th Street traffic problems. It is appreciated that he has promised to discuss street issues with residents at the October DESIGN meeting. A variety of traffic issues will be addressed at that time including the north of Spring and Bellflower proposal and how the City plans to work with residents on Deborah & 28th St..
LIGTH UPDATES ON DEBORAH
Another neighborhood meeting was conducted this summer to address excessive light impacts produced by the car dealership at the south end of the KMart center. Although the City declined to require that the height of the lamp fixture standards be reduced so that they would not be the eyesore that they have become, it is appreciated that the City required the car dealer to remove light pollution from residents?’ properties.
CONSTRUCTION DIRT UPDATE
There are a variety of positive aspects about the new projects, especially for the developer, who is expected to be rebated with millions of dollars of sales taxes from the City of Long. However, some residents have documented evidence of damages from construction dirt impacts.
