PARENTAL CONTROL DEACTIVATION
Since the unit is automatically placed into parental control when turned-on, parental control must first be deactivated before selecting parental control channels or before programming a parental control code.
Step 1. Action: Press ‘F’

Step 3. Action: Enter parental control code (If code is not programmed in, go directly to step 4. See PARENTAL CONTROL ACTIVATION for programming.)

The Channel number will appear on the converter display and the channel can now be added or deleted from the parental control list.

Entering an invalid code display a “P1” message. Three unsuccessful attempts to enter a valid code displays a “P2” message and disables parental control for 15 minutes.

CHANNEL SELECTION
When unit is turned on, parental control is automatically activated. In order to select channels for parental control, the control must first be activated (See PARENTAL CONTROL DEACTIVATION).
Step 1. Action: Tune the channel which is to be parentally controlled (for example channel 12).

Step 2. Action: Press ‘PC/PM’
The ‘P’ indicator on the display will light. If the unit displays “PL”, the unit is locked. The unit must be unlocked prior to programming.

Step 3. Action: Repeat steps 1 and 2 for all desired parentally controlled channels.
PARENTAL CONTROL ACTIVATION
The unit can be locked by either turning the unit off and then on or by following the instructions below:

Step 1. Action: Press ‘F’

Converter display will alternate between PC and the channel selected 1.2. This occurs for all parentally controlled channels.

CHOOSING PARENTAL CONTROL CODE
In order to fully secure the parental control feature, the subscriber may wish to choose and program a parental control code into the converter. This capability allows the subscriber to “teach” the converter a code which then must be used to remove parental controls. Again, parental control must be deactivated prior to code programming (see PARENTAL CONTROL DEACTIVATION).
Step 1. Action: Press ‘LEARN’

Step 2. Action: Press ‘PC/PM’
Converter Displays: LP
Step 3. Action: Press ‘ENTER’
Converter Displays: LP ‘flashing’
Step 4. Action: Enter code
(up to 4 digits)

Step 5. Action: Press ‘ENTER’
(selected channel is displayed) Any break in the above sequence will cause the converter to revert to the current channel display.

The code you select can be any number from 0 to 9999 but cannot exceed foru digits. If the code selected exceeds four digits, the converter will recognize only the last four digits entered. If you forget your parental control code, call your cable operator for assistance.
