We want everyone to be on the alert. Sat. night (5-8-04), someone got into our car that was parked in our driveway and, we believe, attempted to steal it. The car was unlocked. Our theory is that something scared them away. But they took a wallet that was tucked between the seats. Fortunately, there was nothing of value in it... 2 credit cards which were promptly cancelled, photo ids, health card, etc. We found the wallet in the wooded area of a neighbor's yard across the street. Several of the cards that were inside had been taken out and tossed on the ground, leaving no doubt that this was a theft! We normally leave that car unlocked believing we are in a safe neighborhood (and the car is older, doesn't have an alarm system and usually has nothing of value in it). Not to mention that the car was parked at the top of our driveway, a good 50 feet from the road, and we have a motion sensor light over the garage. So this was a very brazen criminal. Be alert!!
