Davies Plantation Homeowners Association

My husband and I need some sort of shade for the back of our home. I don't really want a pergola because they are so large and have huge posts in the way. Our Family Room and Breakfast Room face west, so we really need shade from the afternoon sun. Does anyone have a Sunsetter Retractable Awning(or any other brand name)? If so, do you like it? It is durable? Is it easy to maintain? Are the motorized ones worth the extra expense? Do we need a County Permit to attach one to our house? Thank you for any suggestions. Julie Olsen
