Please make sure you report all crimes, no matter how minor, to LMPD. If you have items missing from your car or find graffiti when you get ready to leave for work in the morning and cannot wait for an officer to respond, you can call LMPD at 574-7636 later in the day to make a report.
As one DPNA Board Member pointed out, ?“I didn?’t call because it was my own fault for leaving my car unlocked.?” Although several cars were broken into overnight, no reports were made.
LMPD officers use the information provided by crime victims to determine what charges can be filed when an arrest is made ?– several thefts in one night could add up to felony charges. Officers will also patrol areas where crime has been reported.
