On August 18, 2007 Del Oro Groves Estates hosted its first ?“Seniors Prom.?” Based on the comments from those who attended as well feed back from others (who did not attend but heard from others), the consensus is that the evening?’s activities were very enjoyable. As a result, the expressed desire is to make this an annual event. The committee appreciates all the positive feed back in verbal and written forms and are enthusiastic to fulfill the expressed desires to make the Del Oro Groves Estates ?“Seniors Prom?” an annual event. Thanks to those who attended as well as volunteers who helped make this event the success it was by handing out flyers, making phone calls, giving in cash or kind, decorating and encouraging neighbors to attend. A special thanks goes out to our youth/young adults who served as ushers and attendants as we honored our seniors. Their presence made a delightful difference toward our intergenerational collaboration. One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of awards in the following categories: Residents Living Longest in Del Oro Groves Estates - Jim & Rea Baker (since 1957); Oldest Resident - Robert Kiehl; Most Grand Children - Charlie & Muriel Harris (5); Most Great Grand Children - Robert & Margaret Kiehl (10); And of course our Del Oro Dancing Stars - Joan Busnoily & Muriell Harris.
