Del Oro Groves Estates

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Oct 10, 2007

It is hard to believe that another golden year in our neighborhood is coming to an end.?  However, we still have some great activities planned and hope you have put them on your calendar to attend.?  Our annual meeting on October 25 is a wonderful way to meet and greet neighbors and city officials while enjoying food, fun and door prizes at the Margaret Heye Room in Ruth Eckerd Hall.?  Most importantly, please join us at no charge, except the $25?  per household 2006 dues, and vote for the leaders of our Association for 2008.?  The following neighbors have agreed to serve as Del Oro Groves Estates Homeowners' Association Board members and will celebrate at the holiday Volunteer Party on December 13: President:?  Lucile Casey; Vice President: Jo Anne Roby; Secretary:?  Sue Ellis; and Treasurer:?  Robert Schwartz. Board members:?  Sandee Geres, Al Galbraith, Jerry & Katie Baker, Del Scott, Joe Moreale, Allen & Betty Arnold, Sharon Mills, Beth Marshall, Robert Booth, Kris & Chris Bombard, Ryan & Denee Stanley, Kelly Meyer, Lauren & John Matzke. These volunteers have agreed to chair one or more committees to help us succeed again in 2008 with our award-winning neighborhood events and communication.? If you would like to join the Board, please contact me prior to our Annual Meeting to have your name on official Agenda. We do welcome participation.? Leticia Morgan remains as Directory editor, but we regret that Dave Stevens is resigning as Newsletter editor and leaving his board position due to plans to re-locate in the near future.?  Come and help us honor him and others who have contributed to this successful year in the Groves.?  Special thanks to Del Scott who chaired our Grant committee and coordinated our first Senior Prom to recognize our senior members and involve our younger members.?  We have been notified by the City of Clearwater that we are to receive a Grant on October 6, and thanks also go to Sue Ellis and June Schultz who assisted on the Grant committee. Hopefully, the monetary award will aid us in planning and executing even more exciting events and keeping the newsletters in the mail. In addition, the quarterly Landscape Award winners will be recognized, and the annual award winner will be drawn and receive a gift certificate for more home improvement.?  Remember, to be eligible, pay your dues and keep on gardening.?  The installation of reclaimed water has helped more lawns look even better so our neighborhood is continuing to shine even more like gold (Del Oro: of gold in Spanish).?  I hope to see all the shining faces of our neighbors at our annual event as well as along our trails and walkways.?  Thanks for sharing in the success of 2007-almost like heaven! Lucile Casey
