Negative Comments

Posted in: Shadow Creek
I am appalled at some of the messages that I have read on this community site. You people should be ashamed of yourselves! I don't believe that this site was meant for such mean spirited comments. The message regarding the lawn decorations is particularly vicious and just plan rude. Perhaps you haven't heard that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And yes, America still remains a free country. If you don't like the landscaping of a certain neighbor then don't look at it. It is not the lawn decorations that make this neighborhood seem like a trailer park. It is your trashy comments. Let's take a peek at your house shall we? I'm sure that you think your choice of siding and trim is nice however, others may think it is hideous. The same could be said for your choice in bushes, flowers, front door, etc. Perhaps nobody told you that if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it. Again, you people should be ashamed of yourselves!
You're right!

I agree that this web page is not the place for negative and hurtfull comments. I am ashamed to call whoever wrote that lawn ornament comment a ''neighbor'' and I just hope that it is not somebody I also call ''friend''. If you don't have something nice to say then don't say it.

Unfortunately, this is common...

It's sad but true. When your average person is given the opportunity to say something while being ''behind the mask'' of anonymity, they're more likely to leave their self-restraint behind. By comparison, this forum is pretty mild to many others I've seen. I know that's small comfort.

Basically, if you have a problem with a neighbor, ask yourself if you're willing to go over to their house, knock on their door and talk to them about it. Then, if you're willing to do that, try to express yourself as if you're speaking to them directly.

I doubt anyone is going to walk up to their neighbor and say ''You know, those lawn ornaments are damn ugly''. That's just not the way adults communicate.

Lastly, how about registering for this forum and putting your name with your comments? If you don't have the intestinal fortitude to put your name with your comments, I have a hard time taking you seriously.
