I won't argue semantics with you - in my mind, spending taxpayer money to develop Ref. C (without taxpayer approval I might add) is the same as contributing to a campaign.

The opponents of Ref. C got a similar note about where to send contibutions only after complaints (originally from City employees).

And lastly, ANYBODY would see the Bulletin as an ad for Ref. C. WHY WAS THE WORDING OF THE 1996 ADVISORY QUESTION MISQUOTED???

Hi BBW,
After the 10, 20, 30 years (whatever) that BF pays their fair share of the bonds for the (previously Boulder County) open space - I assume that that land will be paid off. Does BF then get to KEEP the portion of that land they've paid on the bonds for? Or is it then owned by Boulder County? If it goes to Boulder County, isn't that like BF renting open space for the same money they could be buying it for? And if Boulder County keeps the land, shouldn't they be the ones paying the bonds.

Q1. This may have been a part of the intergovernmental agreement that I previously mentioned. I will check this for you. Don't hold to me to this yet. I will verify it.
Q2. I don't know if any formal public hearings were held by the Broomfield city council after February. But I will find out and report back. However, I do know that numerous meetings were held by the Citizens for Better Local Government (CBLG)with Broomfield community groups, service clubs, and others. After the feasibility study was done, CBLG led the city/county effort, not the Broomfield city council. I recognize that some of CVELG's members allege that CBLG and the BCC are one in the same. That is not true.
Also, the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce conducted its own study of the pros and cons of the city/county and concluded that it should be supported. Feel free to contact the Broomfield Chamber at 303-466-1775.
Regarding the Northwest Parkway and other counties, it is my understanding that the Jefferson County Commissioners support the Parkway. I don't know what the position of the Adams County Commissioners is. I have not heard of any opposition by them.

? for Anyone

I've heard from a lot of people who originally supported the BF City/County issue that now feel the opposite. And I am in that category myself.

Does anyone here know the number of votes cast in that election? I'm wondering how many votes (in numbers)would be required for that election result to be different. I believe there's 4 to 6 thousand people in Westminster and Superior who have much stronger feelings on this issue now than they did a year ago. And the folks I hear from the most are from BF.

It is my personal belief that CVELG need do nothing more than get this issue on the ballot. I believe a large number of voters already HAVE changed their minds.

CVELG will not be launching a high dollar campaign to convince anyone of anything. If BFCC feels that their voters are still happy with what they voted for (formation of BF City/County) - why be worried about CVELG? Perhaps BFCC knows even better than we do that the results would be different this time.
