Will do

They're the ones who got me started. I'll be telling more people. Thanks.

To John and Adrian

The most horrifying thought: that BF CC actions become a model for other communities in local and regional government as is being proposed by our Texan implant governor. The actions and events of BFCC taking this to the state voters; should be cause for amendments to the state constitution in abuse of control by home rule governments; not honored as a model.

Benefits

I want to give you a few examples of what a tangible benefit represents. For some reason, Broomfield officials seem to be a little unclear on what this means.

With respect to the services that are repeatedly thrown in our faces and meant to pull at our hearts and make us follow their lead without question, they have given no tangible benefit. These services already exist. Are they going to be better or less costly services under the city and county of Broomfield? Given the outsourcing plan, no. But let us assume they could be just for the sake of argument. What would be a tangible benefit?

Will an automated database be maintained in order to make scheduling appointments more efficient?

Will these offices require fewer forms or other administrative hurdles before service is provided?

Will any out-of-pocket expenses that are currently required of residents be waived or eliminated?

Will new policies allowing same-day appointments, automatic billing, or insurance validations be implemented?

Will on-site childcare be available for anyone receiving any of these services?

Will the hours of operation of these offices finally be more convenient for residents who can not take time off work?

Will crisis counseling or other preventive services respond to calls within a required period of time?

Will counselors and other staff members be required to obtain higher levels of certification?

Will any sort of aid be available to supplement the cost of counseling, treatment, or medication?

Will services be provided in the homes of residents who are not well enough to visit the office?

Will permanent satellite services be initiated at any type of long term care facility?
This brief list of TANGIBLE benefits consists only of a few ideas that I compiled in roughly one minute. Given the fact that Broomfield officials should be serving their citizens and that the county formation has been the topic of debate for many years, the inability of Broomfield officials to cite any such benefits is unimaginable. Furthermore, none of the above benefits requires a new county. All are realizable with nothing more than a simple policy change that reflects genuine concern for the people these services are meant to help. Unfortunately, this was not even considered. Again, I am forced to wonder why.

Thank You

Cheryl,

Thank you so much for your defense! I appreciate the support in the wake of this kind of petty message!
