FYI

Actually, when this board changes, you still can remain anonymous if you like. I believe it will be just as our other site is now. That is, you may read anything at the website anonymously (i.e. with out being a member). But If you want to post at the discussion board or participate in a live chat, you must be logged in as a member.

When you initially sign up to be a member, you must give an E-Mail address that you can receive your confirmation number at, a user name, and a password. The User Name can be anything you want ("WW" for example). The E-Mail adress you enter will be available to the system administrator, but I believe it is not available to any one else.

So for example, it may be possible to sign up as a member from a friend's machine using that friend's E-Mail address and any name you want as a User Name. You will define your password, and then a few minutes later, Neighborhood Link E-mails your confirmation code to the Email address you specified. You use that confirmation code the first time you log in as a member - but never again. After that you use your User Name and Pass word to log on as a member. And I think you never need to use the E-Mail address again. You need NEVER specify your name.

The only thing that's really trackable is that E-mail address. And, if you use someone else's E-mail, you can remain essentially anonymous even to the system adminstrator.

I believe the reason Neighborhood Link wants posters to be registerd members is to prevent SPAM mail from landing on our board. That has never been a problem for us, but other bulletin board providers are moving in the same direction.

Being a member is cool. You can make a little web page for yourself, you can participate in live chats (I haven't tried that out on this system yet), etc. So I hope we won't loose any discussion board friends when the change happens. In fact, we could really be posting at that board now if you guys are up for it.

Completely Validated

John,

I appreciate the buried compliment. However, I must disagree with you.

As an objective individual, if I were new to the debate over the city and county of Broomfield I might have entertained the notion that Broomfield Anonymous is paranoid. There are countless accusations and a seemingly unending chain of alleged unethical behavior.

But you are forgetting why I have become so involved. I took the time to research most of those accusations and review the behavior of those responsible for the county formation. I must admit, Broomfield Anonymous has valid concerns and I have personally validated most of the details that (s)he has revealed. I firmly believe that Broomfield Anonymous has been a silent witness to many years of unethical behavior in our local government. I have repeatedly seen Broomfield officials in action and personally agree with virtually every comment (s)he has made regarding the character and tendencies of those who will lead the city and county of Broomfield.

Please understand that I have absolutely NO personal hatred or bias against Broomfield officials. I am simply not willing to stand by and watch our local governments demonstrate such an impertinent disrespect for the citizens they were elected to serve. If you have been following our effort, you know that we have also raised concerns regarding the behavior of other city councils. We only want what is in the best interest of our communities. Had Broomfield officials been more receptive to us pesky voters, our repeal initiative would not be necessary.

The Board

The new configuration of this discussion board will be the end of it. Those who wish to remain anonymous will leave.

Those who wish to remain anonymous do so because of real threats to their personal safety. Such psychopaths as "John" (like that is his real name) are reason enough. He is insanely hostile and dangerous.

Let's face it folks: this board has more than served its purpose. An enormous volume of useful dialogue has taken place. We've all learned. Now we know what we must do.

I, for one, will continue to ignore John. He is not worth one keystroke. I will not post on any board that requires I provide my true identity. For one (who is not closely aligned with the anti-county effort) to hold such information gives that one too much power and it is too high a risk.

The information from Broomfield residents detailing harrassment and intimidation cannot be discounted. Let's pray we can put a stop to it once and for all.

Your post makes about as much sense as all of your other posts which is zero. You have added nothing to this page. Afraid to sign your name? You are a coward and you always have been. Your post proves it.
