Solitations

I would like to see the ordinance prohibiting door to door soliciting enfoced. It seems like every other day somebody is knocking on my door selling something or claiming to be collecting for worthy causes. Instead of using our fees to build speed bumps, stop the solicitations.

The following is a summary from the City of Westminster concerning soliciting: (the entire city code can be found on the web address following:

DOOR TO DOOR SOLICITING: Patrol and Traffic Police Department 430-2400 Ext 2744 It is unlawful for any person to solicit in a residential area without a license. Every resident has the right to post a notice upon their property, including apartments, condominiums, mobile homes and detached residences, that soliciting or attempting to solicit from the occupants is unlawful. Solicitation is allowed with prior invitation by the occupant. (5-6-9 (A))

Enforcement of this ordinance is not within the ability of the Homeowner's Association. If you do not wish to be bothered, please post a sign indicating "No Soliciting".
