  • Respect-O-Meter: Valued Neighbor
We were quite surprised to learn yesterday that the LHNA Board refused to accept three very qualified neighbors and friends who had volunteered their talents and time to serve and put their names up for election. At the last meeting in May, the president actually asked people to step forward to serve. The Board certainly needs more diversity, more participation and certainly more leadership. At a time where we need to pull together more than ever, it seems the board is continuing on it merry way of creating controversy and division. This is most disturbing. Go to the pie Saturday and demand transparancy and accountability.

Glad it worked out

Well, I went to the Pie and everything found a way of working itself out. The outgoing president did a masterful job of walking through a number of potential mine fields. There was give and take and compromise. Two of the candidates that had put their names in the hat, but denied 48 hours before the election, were actually elected by the willingness of the association to amend the by-laws. We heard from most all the candidates and they are all impressive and will add new perspective to the board. The new president demostrates a talent to listen, compromise, and we have no questions he will breed enthusiasm into the LHNA. Onward. Go HAWKS>
