Because there is no Des Moines or Polk County Historical Museum I am suggesting that the building be used for a DM/Polk County Historical Museum. I think it is shameful that so little thought is paid to the history of this area. The Polk County Historical Society practically begs for funds to maintain the DM Birthplace Cabin down by Sec Taylor Stadium and this attitude needs to be changed.

SCI uses

That's a great idea, but wouldn't it also make a cool school building. I cannot recall why the schools could not look at that space for a combined school building, but I thought that it was just because the Science Center occupied the best space.
