WELCOME! For a start, the Mayors Annual Bikeride for Trails is Sat. April 21, 2001. It will go along the Inter-Urban Trail past Riley Park. I think it would be good for us to have a water table there. It could be in conjunction with a clean-up or planting at the park. Any comments?

Mayors Bike Ride & thanks Lela!
Art Behn, Pres., is out-of-town, but he supports us having a ''water table'' in the Mayors Bike Ride. Also, in the new newsletter Lela Behn says in an article she responded to a friend that she had been doing ''nothing really'' when asked what she had been doing lately. I disagree heartedly. She has spent a lot of time and effort working on getting new members for and preparing the newsletter for the MHNA and we appreciate her work! Thanks Lela! |

Speed display on 50th St.
Today, Mon. 3/26/01 it was good to see a ''speedcheck'' setup on 50th between Douglas & Urbandale. This device is put on the parking side of the street and displays to drivers how fast they are driving. It is a way to try to reduce speeding through neighborhoods. If your street has speeding problems call Steve Silver at 271-4652. |

Bike Ride changes
Unfortunately the route of the Mayors' Bike Ride was changed this year. The farthest west it will go is 34th & Urbandale so it will NOT go past Riley Park. |
