Welcome to the Desert Harmony Website and Newsletter, I hope you will find both useful and entertaining.

Earlier this year I was made aware of the fact that Neighborhood Links offered free web space for neighborhood sites. At one of the neighborhood meeting, held by the City of Mesa, it was suggested that "someone might be interested in working on the neighborhood website". As time went on I heard nothing more about the neighborhood website. Every so often the topic would come up and I would check the net for the community site and came to the conclusion that people simply lost interest in the idea. It seemed that the only times I remembered

The Neighborhood Links site for Desert Harmony would have came in handy for the carport sales that took place during the summer months, but the need for a neighborhood site appeared when an elderly dog belonging to a neighbor wandered away from home late one evening about 2 weeks ago and was apparently picked up by a kindly neighbor for safe keeping that lived in another section of the community. If this site was up and running during that time, perhaps the neighbors could have posted a notice in the hopes another neighbor found their pet.

It was 3 or 4 days after this that I began to look at the Neighborhood Links site and only a few days since I decided to click on the 'Don't see your neighborhood?" link to ask about how one went about getting the site up. I was a little surprised when the people at Neighborhood Links set the site up, instead of sending me the information on a person to contact about it.

Since the site is up and running,and I was placed as the Admin, I figured I might as well finish what was started. I have been attempting to come up with a few things for the site and newsletter which would interest the members of the community before I begin promoting the site. I've found that if you promote a site which is obviously unfinished, people have the tendency to not be so anxious to return.
