How would you like to live in a place where neighbors know each other, people take pride in their homes and community, there is little crime and drug houses have disappeared? Our neighborhood can be that place! I invite you to join our neighborhood association, and together we can turn this vision into reality.
The Desert Horizon Community Watch Association (DHCWA) meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Desert Horizon Library on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The DHCWA was formed in 1990. Members have helped patrol the neighborhood, worked to get additional street lights, and joined efforts with local officials and police to deal with problems and improve our area.
The top goal of our Association is to increase the community involvement of our neighbors. Areas improve when people know each other and take an interest in the neighborhood.
Together, we can be a voice that will be heard by the city. We can push for more funding and better services. Crime can be reduced when we work together to report illegal activity. Finally, we can instill pride in our area through neighborhood cleanups and encouraging residents to maintain their homes.
Come to our next meeting on February 16. It doesn?’t cost anything to join, and dues are just $5 per year to be a voting member. If you would like more information, call Sharon Fox at 623-772-8706.
