Exec. Dir.,
Our belief in our neighborhood is that human contact is the best form of welcome. Organize a welcoming sub-committee that consists of a small group of your residents that enjoy being hospitable. A small tray of cookies or a welcome to the neighborhood greeting card, a knock on a door, a smile and a heartfelt "Welcome to our neighborhood my name is......and I live at....." I think you get the idea. I know it sounds real "Mayberry streetish" but that era of strong communities should have never gone out of style. Back to basics I say. Our technology has so far exceeded our humanity that we are so quick to suggest email, text, phone call, etc. for methods of contact to communicate and we are deprived of the miraculous power of the human connection.
Sincerely,
Mark A. Parrilla
