What We Do

Citizen Participation

District 6 is here to be your voice to the city, county, state and other government agencies. We hold public meetings for business licensing, land use and other planning needs. We represent the community interests at the city council and other public hearings. Our staff can act as your first call for help when you need information or would like assistance in dealing with a government agency.

Community Beautification

We strice to have a visually appealing community. We conduct a fall clean-up each year where residents can get rid of unwanted items for a reduced price. We also have a community code enforcement program where the City's Neighborhood Improvement Department in partnership with District 6 volunteers conduct area sweeps informing property owners of any code violations on their property.

Community Planning

We oversee all area planning and plan implementation for the community. This includes a large area plan outlining the communities vision for land use, housing, crime prevention and programming. We also work on small area plans and commercial corridoor plans. Our goal is to help people create a vision for the community and see that vision into reality.
