The Dixie Style Cloggers Dance Club formed in 1986 to promote and stimulate interest in clogging as a recreational activity among new students, members and guests. Goals of our Club are to maintain these activities according to high standards and promote fellowship among those interested in clogging with communication between the officers, members, and students. Clogging is fun, exercise and entertainment.
From 2 - 3 PM on Sunday afternoons our Instructor will guide you step by simple step through each lesson. It's so easy, you will be dancing complete songs after the first lesson. Your first lesson is FREE! Singles, couples and families are welcomed and encouraged.
Intermediate/High Intermediate level songs are taught every Sunday afternoon from 3-5 PM.
While the crowd-pleasing Dixie Style Cloggers are drawn from throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, we come together each Sunday afternoon at the Senter Park Recreation Center, for club dance, exhibition practice and basic lessons. We have two exhibition teams: Dixie Style Cloggers is a traditional adult team, and our young teen group Dixie Dynamite.
The active, non-profit club is made up of folks who desire to dance and promote the fun and fellowship of clogging. New members from beginner to advanced are welcome to come out and dance for fun or join one of the exhibition teams. We perform for community events such as Mayfest in Fort Worth, Arbor Days in Euless, Fourth of July Parade in Arlington and Irving, Old City Park special events in Dallas, The West End Cattle Drive in Dallas and the St. Patrick's Day Parades in Dallas. We also perform for private functions and conventions. We have performed at functions in Waco & San Antonio, TX as well as trips to Atlanta, GA, Las Vegas & Reno, NV, and Nashville & Knoxville, TN and Foley, AL. We've competed in national clogging competitions in Irving, TX, Phoenix, AZ and Kansas City, MO.
Singles, couples and families are welcomed and encouraged. Our group has members from age 6 to 83 and is truly a family pastime.
Come join in the FUN and become a part of our family!
Our group hosts a benefit clogging workshop and square dance to send local cancer patients from Children's Medical Center to a special summer camp called Camp Esperanza. The 2003 benefit will be held at the Walnut Hill Recreation Center in Dallas on October 2, 2004. Josh King and Jeff Driggs have already agreed to donate their time and talents to help raise money for the 14th Annual Camp Esperanza Benefit Dance. We will also have many of your favorite Texas instructors who will be donating their time to help make this the best workshop ever. In the past 15 years with the help and support of many Texas instructors, cloggers and square dancers, DSC has donated over $135,000.00 to help send young children to this special camp.
There will be another new set of Basic Beginner Lessons starting on July 25, 2004 at Senter Park Recreation Center. Bring a friend and come join us for some great FUN and awesome exercise. Your first lesson is FREE
If you were unable to attend on July 25th you will still be able to get in on this set of lessons by comming out on Sunday August 1st.
