I need some ideas on getting a neighbor to stop their dog from barking everytime either my wife or myself go into the back yard.  They are wonderful neighbors in every other respect, so I don't want to be hostile about it.  I know that the city of Schertz has ordnances about barking dogs. Any ideas?

Dog issues between neighbors are not usually settled through the Homeowners Association.  If your neighbors are so nice, wouldn't they like to know that their dog is

causing you annoyance?  Have you spoken to them about it, in a nice way, of course?  The common experience is that many people get dogs to bark when someone comes near their yard, as a way to protect their property so it may be hard to get anything done but you might ask your neighbors if they could work with you and the dog to make him or her more friendly to you to stop the barking.  Just trying to suggest a solution.  The City does has ordinances about noisy pets which you can find on their website.  You could call them and ask to discuss the issue because they may have some ideas too.
